Last week, from August 13 – 19, 43 people went to Guatemala on our family missions trip. The main goals of the trip involved completing the school in El Jurgallon (our adopted village), visiting the people of our village with food and donated items, and helping at the Hope of Life ministries.
The trip was absolutely amazing! In just 4 days we were able to double the size of the school by building 2 additional rooms out of concrete and cinder blocks. On 2 of the construction days half of our team went from hut to hut in our village praying for the families and giving them the clothing, toys and other donated items. They also were able to feed all of the children of the village.
During our stay at Hope of Life we were able to help with the infants at the Baby Rescue, play with the children of the orphanage, sit and enjoy the seniors living in the assisted living area and support Hope of Life by helping with some construction and sorting at their warehouse. All in all the trip was incredibly successful. Every team member came home in awe at all that God had helped us complete in the VERY short amount of time we were there.
